Service Overview & Introduction
An overview of DipDNS free dynamic and static DNS services and DNS management systems.
What services do we provide?
We provide free, dynamic and static DNS services. Users with dynamic or static IP addresses can host their own website, FTP service, IRC endpoint, or email server. We allow anyone to associate a friendly hostname or a registered domain name with an Internet-connected computer, so people may connect to your machine from anywhere on the Internet.
What is the Dynamic IP DNS Service?
Dynamic IP DNS Service allows users with DSL, ADSL, ISDN, Dialup and Cable Modem type connections to host their own website, ftp, IRC, or email server. It allows anyone to associate a friendly hostname with an Internet-connected computer, even if a dynamic IP address is used. For example yourhostname.dipdns.org
What is My Domain Name DNS management system?
My Domain Name DNS management system is a DNS manager for your domain name. It can be used with a dynamic or a static IP address. It allows anyone to associate a registered domain name with an Internet-connected computer. To use this service, you must have a registered domain name, and you must be prepared to delegate it to DipDNS’s name servers. For example www.yourdomainname.com
Do I have to pay for the services?
No. Dynamic IP DNS Service and My Domain Name DNS management system are totally free.
What domains are available for hostnames?
Currently, we can offer DipDNS.org. However, we do intend to acquire more domains in the future.
DipDNS is designed for simple hostname reachability and lightweight DNS delegation. It does not try to replace full managed hosting platforms or enterprise DNS suites; the focus is on keeping self-hosted services reachable with a straightforward, low-overhead setup.
